Toyota Repair: 93 Toyota car alarm, toyota car alarm, toyota celica

My friend has a 93 Toyota Celica and they lost the key fob. The battery went dead and every time he tries to jump it, the car alarm goes off. Since they don't have the fob, they can not turn the alarm off. What is the best way to disarm the alarm system?

Try doing the following:
remove the key from the ignition
remove the negative battery terminal
put the key back in
leave the door open
reconnect the battery
get back in and try to start, if it does the system is disabled until the next time the battery is disconnected.
