Toyota Repair: My 85 Camry didnt pass smog, nox emissions, vacuum modulator

Hi Ted,
My Camry did not pass its smog check this year due to a high NO emissions.
while running at 15mph, it measured 1310 ppm, but at 25 mph, it only measured 513.
She runs great, is there anything I can do at home to help her pass without taking her to a mechanic?

High Nox emissions are uare usually caused by an EGR system failure or the engine running too hot. Try replacing the egr vacuum modulator valve which is attached to the egr valve and has some small vacuum lines going to it, it is a common problem, other than that you should have the system checked for correct operation.
