Toyota Repair: 1997 toyota landcruiser, toyota landcruiser, radiator cap

Question
hi... on the way home from pismo beach, our landcruiser battery light came on after a funny noise.  then, couple of minutes later i heard something go bump, then something blew under the engine and water went everywhere?  we pulled into a rest stop and looked, and the entire top of the radiator blew apart (not the radiator), but the plastic part that actually covers it - where the radiator cap is...?

two weeks prior to this, my car was at the dealership having the fan replaced for the a/c, as it was not blowing cold air.  as well, they found an oil leak, which was also repaired.  what could this be?  could it be related to what they replaced/repaired?

Answer
Hello, the reason this happened is that the engine overheated, it sounds like a drive belt broke causing the water pump and the alternator and the cooling fan to stop working, the resulting pressure in the cooling system caused the radiator to blow the top tank off.
