Toyota Repair: Center Console, blown fuse, toyota corolla

Question
My wife's 2004 Toyota Corolla (65,000 miles) (1.8L) (4cyl) (automatic)has an unlit center console, which makes it impossible to see what gear you are in (ie drive, low, reverse). All the other dash lites are OK so I'm not figuring it's a blown fuse (although I would not rule it out).
Question: Is there a fuse? Is there a procedure to remove the least amount of console to get at the led or bulb?

Answer
The light is on the same fuse as the other insturment lighting so if they are working it's not the fuse. Most likely the bulb, the bulb is in a small socket on the underside of the shift indicator panel, you would have to remove the center console cover to access the bulb.
