Toyota Repair: Toyota Corolla - 1993, power steering fluid leak, toyota corolla 1993

Question
My son has a 1993 Toyota Corolla, automatic transmission approximately 120K miles.  When he drives faster than 45mph the front end shakes excessively.  Also, the steering is progressively more and more difficult.  It makes a loud sound and you really have to have muscles to turn.  Tonight he could barely parallel park.  What do you think this could be?  Also when idle it tends to sputter.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Answer
The front end shaking is probably due to out of balance or worn tires so they should be balanced.
The power steering doesn't seem to be working this could be because the power steering belt broke or there is a fluid leak and all the fluid has leaked out of the reservoir under the hood, check the fluid first and add automatic trans fluid or power steering fluid, this reservoir is usually round either metal or plastic with a cap on it that says power steering.
If the fluid is low then there may be a power steering fluid leak and it should be inspected for that.
