Toyota Repair: Potential repairs, powertrain warranty, cabin air filter

Question
I have a 2006 Toyota Corolla with 28,400 miles on it. Had a recall and the computer was replaced. Their "diagnostics" said I may soon need a long list of repairs (their estimate at the dealer was $1890...right!). I called Merchant Tire and they gave me lower prices. I read that 2006 Corollas rarely need a drive belt replaced but that's one on their list--said it was cracking.  Don't know what to believe and haven't taken it anywhere else yet. Owners and maintenance manual doesn't even list belts of any kind or replacement of fluieds (transmission, etc). Also said brake pads. But another site said if the brakes are squealing, then brake pads may be worn. My car has been perfect--no noises, no problems. Who and what do I believe?

Answer
At this mileage there is not much that actually needs to be done, the drive belts do crack on these engines so it may have to be replaced, I don't know without looking at it. Here is what you should do at 30,000 miles:
replace the air filter
replace the cabin air filter
change the engine oil and filter
rotate the tires and inspect/adjust the brakes

The transmission fluid at 60,000 miles and the coolant at 90,000 miles, it uses super long life coolant.
I'm curious what the dealer wanted to do for that price can you give me a description, if not it's ok, the car also has a powertrain warranty in effect for 5yrs/60,000.
