Toyota Repair: 2006 Sienna Automatic Sliding Door, override switch, manual override

Question
My sliding door doesn't work. When the problem first started, the door
would sometimes reverse open as if something was in the way.  Now the
door is binding, both opening and closing and I have to help it manually
with a lot of force to open or close.  The manual override switch doesn't
help at all.

How would I convert this automatic door to a full time manual door?  I
can't afford to spend $2k to replace everything.  Thanks in advance...

Answer
First look at the door and the door opening carefully for any signs of metal to metal contact between the door and the body, many times the hinges or rollers are worn causing the door to bind up when closing. If the door alignment is ok the you can cut the operating cables to manually open and close, you should remove the door panel to remove as much of the cables as possible.
