Question
I have an issue with a fuse that keeps blowing which causes the auto lock to kick in and my brake lights to quit working. I have checked the bulbs and they are good. I have replaced the fuse several times. When I mash the brakes it blows the fuse again. However, when I turn on my lights, all three brake lights come on. Can the brake pedal switch go bad and cause this issue? Any suggestions as to what I can do to fix the problem?

Answer
Try to isolate where the short circuit is, disconnect both til light wire sub harnesses from the main wire harness, if the fuse still blows the problem could be the switch, if the fuse stops blowing then the problem is in the rear at the tail lights, if it has a trailer hitch disconnect it's harness from the main wiring and see if the fuse still blows.
