Toyota Repair: toyota 2.8 sloppy gear shifter, hilux, bushings

hi i have a 2.8 diesel 1995 hilux  and it has just started giving trouble changing gears sometimes it wont go into 5th and the other gears are starting to do the same, but the gear shifter moves all around the place and is very sloppy

The bushings in the shift tower is worn, remove the shifter from the transmission and replace the two bushings, one inside the shift tower and there is one on the end of the shifter, do not remove the shift tower just remove the shifter by pushing down and turning the metal retainer.
