Toyota Repair: MODULE, 22r motor, salvage yards

Question
I HAVE A 1987 TOYOTA PICKUP WITH THE 22R MOTOR,GOING TO WORK YESTERDAY & IT JUST DIES IT IS GETING GAS BUT SOUNDS LIKE IT IS NOT FIRING,SOME ONE SAID CHECK MODULE,HOW CAN I CHECK IT & WHICH ONE? DON'T IT HAVE ONE IN DIST.& ONE WITH THE COIL? THE TRUCK HAS 200,000 MILES ON IT.

Answer
There are two coomon problems if there is no spark, the most common is the distributor, there are no parts available for it so it has to be replaced, the other is the coil/igniter, they re attached and should be replaced together, there are plenty of both available in salvage yards so I would start with a used distributor first.
