QuestionI have a 1998 Toyota Corolla. Recently the idiot light on the instrument cluster started repeatedly blinking off and on. However, there are occasional days when it doesn't come on. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Don't mess with airbags or wiring. take it to a good Toyota
technician that has a good scanner with the airbag software,
he will pinpoint the problem.

There are sensors mounted at the front of the car behind the bumper
in the engine compartment. One of them could have a bad connection.
Was the car bumped in a parking lot? To pinpoint where the issue
is a good expensive scanner must be hooked up. have that done and go from there. Get a Hayne's or Chilton's manual from a local library or auto parts store. If you do attempt anything disconnect the battery first.
