How much should it cost to have a starter professionally installed in my 1993 corolla? I live in CT and Firestone told me I needed the starter and battery replaced. They quoted $100 for the battery and $375 for the starter, which seems high to me.

Hi Jen,

Always take your vehicle to at least 3 different repair shops for estimates and analysis.
First of all you don't have a bad battery and a bad starter,
Its one or the other, their parts replacers and guessing.
Take the vehicle to a reputable repair shop
that specializes in Toyota's or Asian vehicles only!
They will test both. A starter replacement can be anywhere from
$250 on up. It depends on the quality of the starter rebuild and warranty.
