Toyota Repair: 2002 Toyota avalon, cv joints, wheel alignment

Question
I was reading another Q and A about another Avalon owner having a similar problem that I am having. I have about 97,000 mi. now.  For the last year I have been experiencing a vibration in the steering wheel that I thought was just unbalalnced tires.  It has ruined my new front tires in 6 months.  I got 2 new front tires, had them balanced, (with the ugly weights on the outside of the rim) and a four wheel alignment.  I still have the vibration.  Could this be a strut problem?  That is what the NTB repair man told me.  The struts have never been replaced and when I stop the front of the car does dip down.  thank for your help.

Answer
Strut failure normally doesn't cause a vibration so I don't think this is the problem, vibrations are caused by a rotating component, I would recommend having the axles checked at the inner cv joints, worn inner cv joints will cause a vibration at higher speeds especially under acceleration.
