Toyota Repair: Toyota transmission, toyota dealer, little pieces

Question
I have a 1991 toyota pu, 22re, 5 speed manual trans., 250k miles.  Keeps popping out of 3rd gear.  The transmission was rebuilt 5yrs ago.  I do most work but never transmissions.  Is this something that is not to hard to fix?  What is the problem.

Answer
Sometimes popping out of gear is due to worn shifter bushings in the shift tower, remove the inside shifter console and boot and then remove the shifter, don't remove the 12mm bolts, just push down on the metal retainer and turn it, it's spring loaded, the retainer will come out and the shifter can be removed, there is a large bushing inside the shifter opening, in most cases it may be broken into a lot of little pieces or it may be missing completely, there is anither plastic bushing at the end of the shifter, contact a toyota dealer to get both of the bushings and replace them.
