Toyota Repair: 2003 camry A/c, automatic thermostat, thermostat control

I have a 2003 Camry with automatic thermostat control.  When I turn on the AC it wil rin for a few seconds then quit cooling and the A/C light starts blinking.  I have take it in for repair twice and each time while they were checking it out it started woking again and they could not get it to stop working. They said they could not identify the problem while it was working.  The first time it worked for 7 months before acting up and the second time 2 weeks.  Can you help?

I could pinpoint the problem, but only by testing a few things on sight. Take it to a Toyota dealership, make sure they have a A/C technician, if not go to another Toyota dealership. I assume its full of freon, and I'm not going to guess, it could be the expansion valve or the A/C amplifier. These can be tested by a trained techie.
