Toyota Repair: 2000 toyota tundra will not hold info, california smog check, toyota tundra

My Tundra was stored for 11 months with the batt. disconnected I am now driving it all is well but went in for California Smog check and it passed all except the ECU will not hold info to pass on to the smog computer to pass. the tech told me to drive it to build up info but after 200 miles it still does not hold the driving info.

Can You tell me what I can do.

Hi Ed,
 Try resetting the ECU. The best way is have a shop hook up
a scanner and clear it. Most shops will charge for this, I wouldn't.
Otherwise you can reset the ECU by disconnecting the negative clamp on the battery for 5 minutes. DON'T do this until you read your
owners manual in the glove box on the procedure or talk to a COMPETENT Toyota dealership service rep. The reason is some stereos
and alarm systems will be affected and won't work until you set the
code back in them.(you will have to get the code from a dealership
if you don't have it).
