Nissan Repair: Horn wont work, nissan altima, middle portion

My wife's Nissan Altima's horn will not blow. It sounds when the car alarm goes off but will not work otherwise.

Hi Gene -

have you checked the horn switch? Remove the middle portion of the steering wheel, and you should see a wire with connector. Try jumping the metal part of that connector to ground, or any metal surface of the vehicle. If the horn blows, then replace the switch (which is the part of the steerinf you just removed).
