Toyota Repair: 99 Camry turn signal and emergency flash, flash switch, signal light

Hi Ted,

My 1999 Camry's turn signal suddenly stop working while flashing in the middle of the road. The emergency flash failed to work too. I checked the corresponding fuses and they are ok. I read your previous answer about this problem for a 2000 Camry and I checked the emergency flash switch and it seems ok too. When I switched on the emergency flash switch or turned the signal light handle I could still hear the sound of a relay clicking (once on switching on) under the dash. I tried to locate the flasher but can't find it. Besides, how do I check the flasher anyway?

The flasher is located on the back of the junction block in the lower left of the dash, the one that has all the fuses in it. You may need a mirror and a light to see it, there are other relays there as well so it may be difficult to identify it, if send me an email address I could mail an illustration to you, <tedrttr@yahoo.com>
