Toyota Repair: Toyota Corolla 96 check engine lights ON, cable clamp, toyota corolla

Question
My 96 corolla (65,000 miles) had the check engine lamp come on. Both times that this trouble came back I was highway driving at about 60mph. I removed the Neg. battery cable clamp for a minute then I replace it to reset the computer. This makes the engine lights off. My question is : why this only happen in highway driving context ? is it possible that the problem is a oxygen sensor failure ? or it could also be of other source ? Thanks in advance.

Answer
It could be a variety of causes, the next time the light comes on don't erase the code, have the code retreived at either an autozone parts store, they do it at no charge, or the dealer or a repair shop, they will charge a diagnostic fee which is usually applied towards the repair.
