Toyota Repair: brakes on Toyota Avalon, toyota avalon, foot brake

I use my emergency brake to park on my driveway, yesterday it came on and off all day, today it stays on and the brakes go right to the floor and takes a long way to actually stop, would this be brake fluid or something wrong with the emerg brake, what should I do ??

Hi Maureen, you are not very clear but I assume that you are talking about the brake light. If light comes ON it tells you that your fluid level is low. It can be du to a leak in the system, or just getting low cause when pads ware out cylinders keep expanding and level goes down. Yes light also works with hand or foot brake but will not give you soft pedal. check fluid level. get on the floor and look under vehicle for wet spot or drippings around the wheels. in this case nothing to do with emrgcy brake.
Do not fool around with brakes, check this immediately.
