Toyota Repair: 90,000 mile check-up, cabin air filter, toyota avalon

Question
Hi Ted, I own a 2001 Toyota Avalon, auto trans. I believe that it is time for the major service check-up. It has approimately 90,000 miles. It runs fine. The dealerhsip usually has a couple of packages to choose from. The Toyota schedule and the Dealer schedule. Is the additional service and cost for the dealer package worth it?

Answer
I don't know how to answer this question because I don't know what the dealer schedule is for your dealer which can vary from one region to another, the dealers like to add a few items bsed on the local conditions. Basically here is what I would recommend doing:
Change oil and filter
replace the air filter
change the transmission oil
replace the spark plugs
change the coolant
rotate the tires
check the brakes
check the tires
check all the lights
replace the windshield wiper rubber inserts
replace the cabin air filter if app.
and if the timing belt has never been replaced it should be done at this time also.
