-----Question-----
hi ted, something is draining my battery. ive taken the car to 2 mechanics. they checked out battery , wiring, anything obvious that would do thiscould not find the problem. ive had problems with electrical since ive had this car. i know this year has a history of electrical problems. mechanics said they didnt have sophisticated enough equipment to figure this out. i never know if my car will start, i put charger on it all the time just in case. i bought this car practically new from my moms estate, its an automatic with about 100,00 miles on it. since ive had it when i would use the ac the lights on the radio would dim sometimes. any suggestions what i can do about this. is it best to take it to a toyots dealer? any idea how much it would cost to repair? thanks so much for your help. bev

From what you are telling me it seems that there may be a problem with the alternator not being able to keep the battery charged, I would recommend replacing the alternator.

Answer
I think this is going to be beyond my ability to help only because I can not physically deal with the problem, there is something draining the battery it seems, the toyota dealer would be the most rational choice, they will charge a diagnostic fee usually about $80 but it will tell you what the problem is and then you can decide whether to have them repair it or do it yourself or have someone else do it.
