Toyota Repair: CAMRY CODE 13, salvage yard, diagnostic code

Question
I have a 1993 Camry and I  am getting diagnostic code 13 dealing with RPM signal.  Short of taking it to a service center what can I do to fix it?

Answer
In most cases this is due to a loss of the NE signal which is the rpm signal produced by the distributor to let the computer know how fast the engine is rotating, there are no individual parts available for the distributor and the best way is to just replace it with either a new one from the dealer(about$500) an aftermarket rebuilt one at less than half of the dealer cost or a used one from a salvage yard at about $100.
