Toyota Repair: ignition switch on 1997 toyota rav, toyota rav, vin code

Tim, The ignition swtich on my Rav is locked up, I can't even get it to go into the ACC position, How do I remove this to replace it?

You can not remove the ignition switch without having it in the run position or you will have to break something.  I suggest getting a new key cut from the dealer using your vin code and try that first. Second, make sure the steering wheel is not being held tight against the lock. Just move the wheel left to right as you try to turn the key.
