Toyota Repair: 1996 Tacoma missing on #4 cylinder, denso plugs, trouble code

Question
My '96 Tacoma (3.4l V-6 4X4)is misfiring on cylinder #4. I know this because of the trouble code I keep getting (304). I changed the plugs, no change. Since it was missing on #4 but not on #1 I figured that the coil must be fine and replaced the wires. Still no change. I moved the coil to the #3 plug and the problem stayed at #4. I am stumped on this one do you have any ideas?

Answer
You're correct in that because it's a wasted spark engine. If you have a mis-fire on one cylinder & not the other cylinder the coil fires. The coil is OK. (Provided it's not an intermittant fault.)

Check the fuel injector on that cylinder. The ignition is most likekly fine.
(And always use NGK, or Denso plugs. Anything else will not perform well by this time next year. The coils like very low resistance Japanese plugs.)
