-----Question-----
Hi I have a 1990 Toyota Celica 2.2 liter engine. My question is that I can hear some air leak around or under intake manifold.I have checked all vacuum hoses for cracks and all checked out ok.Could this leak be coming from the intake manifold because it is kind of a hissing sound.Would a bad gasket make this hissing sound from the intake manifold?thanks
-----Answer-----
No, a bad headgasket will not make this noise, not sure what the problem is, have someone else look at it because it is very hard to diagnose noises like this without hearing them, like you said you checked all the hoses and found nothing, an intake leak should make the engine run rough is this the case? Yes it is running rough.thanks

Answer
If the engine is running rough then there is definetely a leak on the intake side, yes a leaking gasket on the intake chamber can cause this, get a can pf brake cleaner from the autoparts store and spray it around the suspected area, if the engine speed increases when using the spray cleaner that is were the leak is located.
