Toyota Repair: 1999 Toyota Avalon XL bucking problem, toyota avalon, lame answer

Question
The car has a bucking problem in either low, 2nd, or drive. In low, as the accelerator is slowly increased (more pronounced if on a hill), the car begins to buck (although not real hard) as though the accelerator was being pushed and released multiple times. The bucking also occurs when driving at about 55 and the accelerator is slowly increased. As this bucking occurs, the Tach does not show any fluctuation. The car has had oil changes every 3000 miles but has had no other type of service. I purchased it new and it currently has 39,300 miles. Toyota service rep said if the check engine light is not on (which it is not), there is no problem; however there is a problem. Can you help? Thanks

Answer
Thats a lame answer from the dealer.

The best thing to do is take a "snap shot" with a toyota scan tool while it malfunctions. It records various engine data as you drive down the road.
That way when you get back to the shop you can replay it and see what signal is getting lost or changes etc.
Is here another dealer you can go to?
Without scan tool data Id just be guessing.
