Toyota Repair: 96 4runner Sr5 v6 stalling, throttle position sensor, low gears

Question
It is a: 96 4runner SR5, V6,auto, 4WD. I just bought this truck a few days ago and it has stalled on me three times. It seems to do it in low gears when I press the gas. It starts back up no problem. Also is it normal to hear/feel it down/up shifting at low gears? It seems to be a little rough out of/into first. Last question, there seems to be a little oil leaking from the spark plug valve cover area. Not much but enough that you can smell it burn when you get out of the truck. Thank you for your time.

Answer
If it leaks , fix it. replace the gaskets if thats the source. You can clean it off and recheck.
Oil leaks only get worse.

Sounds like a Throttle position sensor by your description. Does it have any engine codes?
You can get it scanned for free at some parts stores.
