Toyota Repair: crank no start, autoparts store, toyota celica

Question
I own an 89 toyota celica st with a 3sfe engine and manual trans the engine has good compression and spark, but it just turns over it wont start I dont think that the injectors are firing but i dont know how to test for sure?

Answer
That's not a problem, go to any good autoparts store and buy a special small test light that plugs directly into the injector connector.
Unplug any one of the injector connectors and put the light on the connector, when cranking the engine the light should flash, indicating that the computer is giving the injector the signal to operate. A regular 12v type test light will not work.
If the injector pulse is correct check the fuel pressure, it may have a bad fuel pump.
If there is no injector pulse things can get a little complicated because there may be a problem in the wiring or the computer itself. Let me know if I can help more.
