BMW Repair: BMW 318i Lux 1990, bmw 318i, test light

hi i just bought a bmw 318i lux version 1990 i was wondering if you could help me the car wouldnt start so i checked the fuel pump like you had explained in another persons question , theres no petrol getting to the carb , the man i bought it off said he was driving then went inside a shop he came out and it wouldnt start it still has half tank of petrol
is there a fuse for the fuel pump cos i was thinking that maybe that was the probem i looked at the fusebox but it doesnt tell you which fuse is for what , it just says the numbers
if there is a fuse for the fuel pump could you let me know which fuse it is

Hey there paul, I'm not sure which fuse os for the fuel pump, but it will tell you in your owners manual, if you don't have one then i will check mine and let you know tomorrow.  You can just as easily take a test light and touch both ends of the fuse on the top of it when it is pluged in and see if it lights up, if it doesn't then pull the fuse and visually look at it and see if it is burned out.  Listen for the fuel pump to make a wining sound when you try to start the car.  If it doesn't then your fuel pump may be bad.  I'll check on that fuse for you in a bit and let you know.
