Toyota Repair: passenger air bag off, side trim, left hand side

hi i have a 2006 corolla compressor and the passenger air bag light says it is off .i have tried turning the key on the switch at the left hand side trim but it is already in the on position .the switch seems to be spring loaded to the on position as if you cant turn it of .it doesnt seem to switch of if i try turn it of then back on.or am i looking to a trip to the dealer bearing in mind it still under warranty am i just not turning it back on correctly.many thanks

I'm not sure what is going on with the switch, it should be able to be turned either on or off without difficulty, have you checked the owner's manual for instructions, if that's no help I would suggest having the dealer look at it as it is still under the warranty.
