Toyota Repair: 2002 Toyota Camry Air conditioning, 2002 toyota camry, toyota camry

Question
2002 Toyota Camry SE, 4cyl, 105,000 miles.
Air conditioning indicator light is blinking rather than just staying green when turned on.  Air conditioner does not work.  Took it to a trusted mechanic, he said electrical problem and we had to take it to dealer.  I would like to know what I am getting into prior to dealer because they are so expensive.

The ac speed sensor sees a difference between the engine speed and the actual compressor speed so it shuts off and flashes the light.
Could just be the ac Mag clutch relay in the box under the hood. You can switch it with a like relay in that box.
It could be a bad compresor. Check relay first.
