My power antenna is not going up or down any more.  I can move it manually but when I shut the car off, I hear the antenna motor trying to do something but it just sounds like it is grinding.  I can't figure out how to get to it as it appears to be in the quarter panel.  Can you advise on how to fix?

thanks
Answer -
The white plastic spiral cable broke. The antenna will have to be removed disassembled and have a new mast installed. Its pretty straight forward, however you may need to remove the mudflap, inner fender and the fender flare to get at it. Not a job for a novice. It requires moderate Mechanical ability.

Take the nut off the top of the antenna.Remove the assembly and take the cover off the side. You take the broken cable out reassemble the cover. Then feed the new cable in the tube while the wire is still connected. Turn the radio off and the motor will pull it down the tube.then put the assembly back in the fender and put the nut back on the top. Be careful not to scratch the fender.

So all I need is the one part , the antenna mast?  I assume it comes with the cable or do I need to order that too?  thanks

Answer
ONE PART,
THE MAST AND CABLE ARE CONNECTED. YOU'LL ALSO GET A SMALL GUIDE PIECE THAT FITS OVER THE MAST AT THE TOP THAT HOLDS IT IN ONCE YOU PUT THE NUT ON.

WHEN YOU TAKE THE NUT OFF YOU PULL THE GUIDE PIECE OUT.IT HAS A BLACK PLASTIC RING AT THE TOP
