Toyota Repair: Tail light assembly on a 1992 Camry, plastic squares, light assembly

Question
Hello Ted,

I have a 1992 Camry, runs great, only about 130K miles on it.  Well the brake light on the rear passenger side went out & I can't figure out how to remove the brake light assembly to replace the blub.  I have removed the two screws on the rear of the trunk next to the seal piping, but it seems quite stuck on the outside corner and I don't want to pry it.  I removed the felt in the trunk and there are two white plastic squares on the inside of the trunk body.  Please do advise.

Thank you,

Charles.

Answer
After the two small bolts are remove the tail light lens has to be pried off from the body, try it with a scredriver wrapped in a rag or a plastic removing tool, the only thing that connects are two plastic connectors that have to be pulled out of their sockets, these are the plastic squares you see in the trunk, the connecting lugs are in there.
