Toyota Repair: 1990 Toyota Pickup Starters, remanufactured starters, starter solenoid

Question
I've got a 1990 Toyota Pickup Dlx. 22RE motor, 5 speed with 182,000 miles.  I replace the original starter/solenoid about 1 year ago and since then have replaced the aftermarket one 3 times.  Is it that these remanufactured starters are junk or is it possible that something else could be the causing them to go bad.  I've checked the wiring & all seems to be fine. Thanks.

Answer
Lots of times when you get a reman starter they are cleaned, checked and painted.
Toyota remans are done in Japan with all new internal parts.

What goes bad is the contacts in the starter. What people dont realize is that they are available as a kit from the dealer.you need one for each side. Way cheaper than a rebuilt starter.

You can take the starter apart and replace the contacts.
Easy to do. Just look at the new parts in the kit, Pretty self-explainiary.
