Toyota Repair: sienna electrical problem, fuse panel, fuse box

Question
My sienna van (2003 LE) has an electrical problem where all of the electric in the van shuts off, resetting the radio, clock, etc.  The van will not start, as no electric is on, but if you open the hood and play with the air filter box, pushing it towards the battery, all of the power comes back on (sometimes you need to hold it in this position while you start the van).  This happens about once a month, had it in to the dealer but they can't recreate the problem or find anything wrong with the van.  Several times this has happened when the power door is being used but sometimes the power door doesn't seem to be part of the equation although once the power comes back on the power door light on the dash remains lit and the door needs to be opened and closed several times for it to turn off.  The whole thing started when I had the car in for service for an engine light problem.  They diagnosed something, not electrical, and the van seemed fine except when I picked it up I couldn't get the power door to work properly.  The mechanic came out and fixed the door saying it "had to be reset".  The electrical problem started a couple weeks later and still bothers us 5 months later.  Recently I have also noted a small shock when I open the back hatch, not sure if this is related.  Any suggestions?

Answer
youll have to do a little looking around.
Sounds like either a loose connector, poor fuse or relay fit in the fuse box.
Start in the corner and wiggle wires and such till you find it. Check for fuses loose in the fuse panel. you can refit the spade they plug into if you find a loose one.
Be patient and methodical and youll probably find it.
About the shock in the hatch. Make sure the ground cable from battery to fender is good. Havent heard that specific complaint before.
