Toyota Repair: Ignition Nightmare, hex head, toyota corolla

Question
i have to replace my ignition key mechanism on my 1997 toyota corolla. I saw your instructions on how but I have a big problem, my ignition will not turn to acc, run, or start. Key goes in in but cannot turn at all. I know how to start the car without key but how else can I get the ignition key mechanism out because as you can probably guess my steering wheel is Locked. Actually you know forget about the ignition, if its possible to unlock steering wheel, without being able to turn key or remove ignition. I removed the plastic switch on way back of ignition so thats how i am able to start the car. Also behind the switch there was a metal pin which turned the plastic switch. I was able to get the car home by putting small vice grip on it and turning it but if I let go it would lock again. So at least i got it home. Please help and thank you.

Answer
The lock cylinder will not come out unless it can be turned to the acc position, since this is not possible the center of the lock will have to be drilled out, until all of the lock has been removed then it can be turned.
The other solution is to remove the entire lock mechanism from the steering column and replacing the entire housing and lock.
There are two special bolts that hold the housing to the column, these are round and have no heads on them like a regular bolt so a wrench can not be used, these are called breakaway bolts, they have a hex head on them until they are tightened and then that part breaks off, this is a theft preventive measure.
They can be removed by drilling them out or with a hammer and a sharp punch or by slotting the head so that a screwdriver can be used.
