Toyota Repair: VSC WARNING & TRAC OFF, toyota camry solara, 2004 toyota camry solara

Question
This question is regarding the 2004 Toyota Camry Solara Coupe V6 SLE with navigation system.  We purchased this car in June of 2004, it only has 9940 miles on it. I have had it in the shop 3 times now for the same problem. The VSC and Trac Off lights come on and stay on.  They keep replacing the steering sensor module, but then it goes out again. The last time we were in there, they said that their were some prongs that were bent and that they would have to fix that problem before they could replace the sensors again. (I don't know what they were referring to). They have also had to replace the entire dashboard instrument panel due to the fact that the odometer indicator needle just cracked in half and fell off. We also had a problem with the sunroof making a grinding noise. They lubed the track on that, but it did not last, makes a noise, but not as bad as it used to.  Today when we took the car back again, they made us wait for an hour while they looked at it before deciding to give us a rental car. They said they do not know what is causing this problem.  Shouldn't they have diagnostic/trouble codes that tell them was is causing the problem?  We made them contact Toyota and get a case number assigned to it.  Do you have any advice or information on this problem.  Can any of these things be related.  We love the car, but don't want to drive it until it is fixed. It is a shame, because we have always purchased Toyota, but now will have to rethink that in the future.

Answer
I can only address the trac/vsc lights at this time, yes there are trouble codes but unless they will tell you what those are I can be of no help, since they have already contacted the toyota technical assistance service there is not much to do but wait to see what they have to offer for a solution, if I could have the trouble codes I could at least look to see if there are any bulletins issued from toyota, there are known issues with the Trac/Vsc system but I can't help unless I have that information.
