Toyota Repair: 94 Celica stopped, wont start, engine cranks, celica gt

Question
Follow up.  Checked rotor, it turns when cranking.  Replaced Dist cap and rotor, no change.  Swapped out the Igniter module, no change.  Sprayed starter fluid into intake, no spark.  Measured primary and secondary coil resistance, results equaled Haynes manual specs.  Measured 12 volts on + side of coil with key in on position.  Haven't replaced coil.  Plugged in timing light, no flash.  Just not getting fire.  Tried shorting T and E1 and read check engine light, but it just continually flashes.  Is there somewhere to measure to see if the ECU is telling the coil to fire?
P.S.  His reverse lights don't come on when car is put in reverse.

Question -
My son has a 1994 Celica GT Automatic.  He was driving home tonight and came to a stop.  When he pressed the gas, the car loped and sputtered, but continued to idle when he released the gas.  He pressed the peddal again and it died.  Won't start now. Engine cranks but doesn't seem to fire, lights work, dash lights seem ok.  I don't have a manual, so I didn't know where the fuel pump was.  All fuses I checked seemed ok. Car has 3/4 tank of gas. I don't think it's getting any spark.  Will have it towed tomorrow and can look at it closer.  Has an alarm system, but we don't have a remote for it.
Answer -
Possibly a broken timing belt so check for that, you can do that by removing the distributor cap and when the engine is cranked over and the rotor doesn't turn, the belt is broken.

Answer
Check the coil for cracks or burned areas on the insulation, it sounds like the distributor is the problem, if the coil is not the problem replace the distributor they are known to cause a no spark condition, parts to repair it are not available and the entire distributor has to be replaced.
