Toyota Repair: Scheduled Maintenance, timing belt replacement, mileage cars

Question
Hi Ted,

I have a 94 Camry LX with 125k miles.  I bought the car with 70k miles and the previous owner said that the car was just taken to the dealership for the 60-65k miles scheduled maintenance (I am not sure what exactly was done).

I have been doing the normal service (oil change, fluids, tires, etc.) and once I had it taken to a mechanic for a valve change.

Is there any scheduled maintenance or recommended parts to replace as preventative measures that I should do to keep the car running well?  Perhaps the timing belt?  Any other general maintenance suggestions for higher mileage cars will helpful too.

Thanks for your advice,
Chris

Answer
The timing belt should be replaced every 60,000 miles, at the time of the timing belt replacement there may also be seals that may need to be replaced and possibly the water pump, due to the mileage, I would recommend replacing the water pump and the camshaft and front crankshaft seals, the transmission fluid should be changed every 30,000 miles or less to get maximum life out of the transmission, other than that just normal maintenance is required.
