Question -
Can you give me any ideas on a 92 Toyota Truck - V6 - EFI - 4WD.

After it completely warms up it starts cutting out. If left for several minutes, it will run - and then begin the cutting out again. Have replaced fuel filter and several expensive hoses with no affect. Now I've been advised to replace the fuel pump by one mechanic ($300) and replace some ignition module under the cap by another ($?). Please Help!
Answer -
Before doing anything else try replacing the distributor cap and rotor and the spark plug wires and the spark plugs, if this has already been done let me know.

It has new parts as you described. Even bought them at Toyota. I have never personally had a "new" part fail, but I know it happens. Is there any other ideas? At least a way to diagnose to a particular system (i.e. fuel, ignition, emissions, etc). I thought about trying to drive with some sort of testing light attached so that when the problem occured I could at least confirm elctrical and not fuel. Or not ignition electric anyway.

Thank you and PLEASE HELP!

Answer
I don't believe the fuel pump or whatever module they are talking about is the problem, it sounds like they are making guesses at your expense.
When I get a customer complaint concerning a "cutting out" to me it means that there is an electrical misfire, at this point make sure that the spark plug wires on the right bank of the engine are correctly routed and are not touching the very hot EGR pipe, if they are in contact with the egr pipe they will burn through the insulation and cause a misfire, just one possibility.
