Chrysler Repair: check engine light on- no codes, chrysler town and country, obdii code reader

Question
hello,, our check engine light is on and we bought a OBDII code reader and checked the car,, we have a 98 chrysler town and country and the reader says no codes, but we bring it up to auto zone and they said there machine says its the secondary switch control,, my question is what is that? also the fans will not work causing the van to overheat we changed the temperature control sensor and thermastat and still not working,, we called and no recalls on this van,, any idea about the fans not coming on also! thanks very much,,, amber

Answer
The fan relays on these vehicles are a very big problem.  When it goes out you will not have working cooling fans.  It's located behind the air filter.  The newer ones have a blue label on them.  I'll post up some more info when I get home but that would be where I started.  Also, the specific wording you used for the check engine light code doesn't sound familiar at all.  Did you get a specific "P" code?
