Toyota Repair: Toyota Cressida 2 L Timing marks, 1986 toyota cressida, toyota cressida

Question
I have replaced the cambelt of a 1986 Toyota Cressida with a 2 L engine (1-GE).
Which timing marks exactly do I need to use?
I used the little dot on the outside of the crankshaft sprocket and the dot more to the right of the two dots on the camshaft sprocket. Engine starts well, but ignition is way too early.

Answer
It sounds like the crankshaft gear is ok, use the dot on the camshaft gear that lines up with the middle dowel pin, make sure the dowel pin is in the center of the camshafts three holes then line up the outer dot with the dowel pin.
Also make sure the distributor is not a tooth off.
