I have a toyota supra turbo 1988 with blue smoke for about five minutes after starting the car from overnight.  The smoke then goes away. Is this the turbo or something else?

What is the typical repair cost for valve stem seals and how difficult is the repair to do (I am hobby mechanic)?

Replacing the seals requires special service tools, the valve springs have to be removed one by one and the combustion chamber pressurized to keep the valves from falling into the cylinders,unless you have the needed tools and really know what you are doing I would recommend not doing this yourself, call the dealer or any local repair shop for a price quote.
