1994 Toyota Previa 152,000 miles   automatic

Hi I have a 94 toyota previa and the check engine light is on . I took the van to thhe dealer and they changed the EGR valve . When I got it back the light was still on I called then and they would charge me to cross computer wires to reset the system. I disconnect the 3 computers heds and the light goed away for 1-2 miles and comes back agaian. Can you help me?

Clearing the diagnostic trouble codes is part of the repair and I don't understand why they want to charge you to do this, there is obviously still a problem which they did not address, I advise you to take it back to the dealer and tell them that you want them to find out what the problem is and make a recommendation as to how to repair it, I can't help much unless you can tell me what the DTC was or is stored in the computer now.
It sounds like it may be an EGR problem, someone that knows what they are doing needs to check the system, it sounds like the shop you are dealing with doesn't and it may be time to take it somewhere else.
