Toyota Repair: 1997 4 Runner spare tire, bridgestone tires, pismo beach

Purchased 97 SR5 4Runner 5 speed 4x4 about 1 year 84K miles -love the truck - no problems - runs great. Within 6 months probably will need 4 tires.  The spare is a full size Goodyear R/T(265/70 16) never used. My question is - is that the original spare (OEM) that came with the truck. Would it safe to purchase 3 additional Goodyear R/T's and use the 7 year old full spare. Will likely get 4 new - can you suggest brand (only off road is beach driving) Michelin - Uniroyal ? Thanks for your help.

Most of the toyota trucks and 4-Runners come with Bridgestone Tires when sold, the Goodyear tire is not the original tire, I normally don't give tire recommendations but my personal preference which are also the tires I use on my 4-Runner is the Yokohama brand which are pretty much an off road tire and can be somewhat noisy,I do a lot of mountain and desert driving, this may not be what you want so I suggest a somewhat less agressive tread design like the Michelin or Dunlop, both are very popular for this vehicle and have more of a passenger car type tread, mainly for highway use, but should be ok for the beach,you must be living on on the east coast or way north on the west coast, there is only one place to drive on the beach in california, Pismo beach, if you can drive on a beach where you live your very lucky.
