Toyota Repair: 1999 Toyota Camry CE Power Windows, toyota camry, toyota dealer

Question
My driver's side window just broke down. I would like to know how inexpensive or expensive it is to replace the motor. We were told we probably have to replace the motor (not a Toyota dealer) and would like to know if it's worth having someone besides a Toyota dealer to fix it.  Thank you.

Answer
I could be a problem with the window regulator, if the motors makes noise and tries to move the window up or down, if there is no noise at all it may be a motor problem or a switch problem, I advise that you have a toyota dealer diagnose it, if it's only the regulator, it can be replaced seperately without replacing the motor, this should cost about $250 parts and labor, 90% of the time it is the regulator that malfunctions.
