I have a 1998 Toyota camry. I used a portable air compressor to inflate my tire which is powered by the cigarette lighter plug or by using the power plug below it. the compressor stopped working while inflating a tire. the compressor checked out ok in my other car.
I checked the fuses in my car and they all had continuity which i assume that the fuses are ok.
how can i restore the power output to these two plugs?

Check the "power" fuse inside under the cover on the dash.

I checked the fuses which are located in the fuse "box" behind the money compartment in the back of the dash boared and above the hood release latch. All the fuses checked out O.K.
Could you tell me where the "power" fuse that you referred to is located and how I can get to it? I appreciate your help greatly.
Thanks,
Jerry

On the lower part of the fuse panel look for a large fuse with a clear plastic cover, this is the power fuse, also make sure that the power outlet fuse and the cig lighter fuses are good, these normally blow if there is excessive current draw.

Answer
I don't think I can be of any more help, I have given you the most common problem that happens if there is too much current drawn by a device hooked up to the power outlet, the only other thing I can think of is that maybe they have become disconnected, try removing the power outlet and the cig lighter and see if they are connected and getting 12 volts to them at the connectors, if so, replace them both.
