Toyota Repair: Broken Spark Plug removal, needle nose pliers, set screws

Question
Is there any tool that will remove a broken plug
with out taking the engine apart.

Answer
When you say broken I take it you mean just the ceramic, take a good strong vac and vac out the chips if you can't get them out with needle nose pliers, then the socket 5/8 should go down and get the rest, if the boot is stuck in the hole use needle nose pliers to get it out, if you have rung the plug off, chances are someone has cross threaded the plug and depending on which eng this is on I have made a bit long enough to go down the tube on a 5sfe by drilling into a round rod and using set screws to hold the drill bit in place you can also by this I just like to make things the way I want them, the only thing is you can only drill a little at the time the vac it out and don't get into the head,  oh after you get the ceramic out get a good easeout that fits the hule of the plug, you might want to practice on a old plug in a vise, this way you will know what your up against.if you can't get the drill in there and depending on the eng pull the head take it to a machine shop and they will save you 400. to 800. on getting a used head.
