Toyota Repair: Engine noise, drive belt tensioner, corolla ve

Question
Ted,
I have a 2000 Corolla VE.  If the engine is warm (I notice if I've turned the engine off and need to run out again within 10mins) that it will make a rattling noise and then quickly fade away as the RPM's go down.  One mechanic thought it could be the plastic manifold cover rattling against the engine.  Another mechanic mentioned a lifter but the noise would never happen for him.  Any ideas?

Thanks,
Jennifer

Answer
Corollas had some problems with the drive belt tensioner and there is a service bulletin regarding the repair procedure, I would recommend that you have a toyota dealer diagnose it and have them check for the bulletin, the remedy is to replace the belt tensioner and the serpentine drive belt.
